I had to laugh when my husband finally pointed out that the girl in this painting (which I had decided was finished) had only three fingers on her right hand! One of the greatest obstacles a painter can have is that you get so wrapped up in a piece that you can’t see it anymore. That was obviously the case here! (I know you’re all counting.) She does indeed now have four fingers, and a thumb that is behind the fan, on her right hand.
I find it is always best to be able to put a painting away for a few weeks after you think it’s finished, because later you can see all sorts of issues you hadn’t seen before, sadly. Not that you always have time to put a painting away, but it sure helps!
Evening Reflection is an oil, 24 x 24.
This one is going places….:)
Superb as usual !
Leave it to Tom to nit pick over a miner detail !
3 fingers, 4 fingers – Ha. True that some details get overlooked when so focused on other aspects! All worked out, though. Another wonderful painting, Laurie!
This lady has beautiful features, a peaceful expression, which might mean she is thankful for her life. Many good details are evident. We admire your talents.
Hope to see you this month.
