The Day After Christmas

I’m trying to get back on track here. It takes awhile! Christmas usually commands my attention for a few weeks of the month – at least. We had a nice Christmas day – snow on the ground, family home and dinner with friends. The next day we all went to the pond to go skating – girls, boyfriends,
dogs…how great to be able to do that!

This week I’m working on a few pieces for the Settlers West Miniature Show in Tucson in February. In a day or two I’ll show you the first piece. Painting always amazes me. The first of these pieces went really well and easily, and is almost done. The second has not gone so smoothly. You’d think that once you learned to do something it would always stick with you, like riding a bike, but that doesn’t necessarily apply in the world of painting! Tomorrow is another day though, so we’ll see.

Laurie,
We always enjoy your up dates. Your comments about the two pieces you are working on brought to mind the feelings one has when buying a painting. I guess whether your painting a picture or buying a painting one has to feel it.
Karen and I have both yours and Toms paintings hung in our home and are greatly enjoying the comments from our family and friends. Each painting has its own story, from where we aquired it to the frienships we have developed(though only by phone and e-mails).
Hope you and Tom have a great New Year and we will look forward to the new and exciting creations.
Best Wishes,
Gary & Karen Thams
Oh that does look like fun!
Laurie,
Wish we were there with you guys
… wait …
we were there in thought

Laurie,
Your pictures bring back memories of ice skating at home in Colorado and in New York. What a wonderful holiday. Best to you and Tom from Clark and me.
