The Bridger Range for Tara
Sadly, yesterday they found Tara Bowman’s body in the wreckage of the gallery explosion. So many of us in the art community are devastated. Tara was our champion, and such a great person. Today was her birthday…
Tonight I did this computer sketch in honor of Tara. It will become a painting at some point. I will quote Kahil Gibran’s words, hoping this to be true.
“For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?”
Tara, we will all miss you so.

Laurie,
I’m so sorry that your fears about Tara turned out to be true. Your computer sketch is a beautiful tribute to her and says a lot about the kind of soul she was; I have no doubt it will be a spectacular painting. I’m sure Tara felt very blessed in her life to have friends such as you.

Good morning. I am sitting here this morning here in Belgrade, remembering the year past. I did not know Tara personally, but I have had the opportunity to meet a part of her family this past year and have heard nothing but wonderful things about her. I happened onto your image “The Bridger Range for Tara” simply by chance. It is beautiful! I know the Bridgers were important to her. I can’t help now to look up at them and feel that she is part of their beauty. Thank you for sharing your art and your heart. Sincerely, Lori
