A wonderful antique frame was the inspiration for this piece, the frame being divided so that there are two openings. The birds of course were also inspiration – the rosy finches that frequent our backyard bird feeder. When a storm descends, so do the finches, at times hundreds of them. They can fill the backyard trees and sometimes there are so many of them on the roof it sounds like the roof is alive! I do love these little birds! In the summer, occasionally we’ll get finches on the feeder with bluebirds and wild canaries – so red, blue and yellow. It doesn’t get much better than that!
